Twitter and Apple

Apple/Google and Elon Musk are going to butt heads in 2023. With Elon looking to orient Twitter’s revenue to subscriptions and include more “free speech” protocols (whatever that means), two main issues are brought to the forefront.

  1. Apple and Google will take a 30% cut of any incremental subscription revenue
  2. Elon is more likely to break some kind of App Store TOS by moving fast and breaking things with “free speech”

Both of these issues will cause Android and iOS to attempt to regulate access while simultaneously taking a rev share from Twitter/Elon. In this process, Elon will not like this power struggle (that every app developer faces) and spout idealism that this is no longer a “free” internet and App Stores are massive toll booths to freedom of speech. Get ready to see how Elon tackles this problem by slandering Apple and Google while simultaneously fighting off the government and their influences.

The likely end result of this standoff will come from government ruling or Elon building his own phone OS.
